Pride Reclaimed
Europe stands at a pivotal moment for human rights and democratic values. The ban on Budapest Pride last year was a stark reminder of the challenges facing LGBTQI+ rights and freedom of expression in Europe. Yet, in the year since, Hungary’s political landscape has shifted, offering new hope for progress. The fight for equality is not just a moral imperative, it is a cornerstone of a resilient, inclusive democracy. On year on since Renew Europe’s participation in the historic turnout at the banned Pride, the time to reflect on our achievements and reaffirm our commitment to justice is now.
Join us for a Renew Europe seminar on 2 June, from 17:00 to 20:00 in room ASP 5G1, to reflect on the progress made since Budapest Pride’s ban, celebrate the resilience of the LGBTQI+ community, and reaffirm our commitment to equality and democratic values in Europe at a time when they are more important than ever.
This seminar is hosted by Renew Europe’s MEP Fabienne Keller, and we’ll be joined by both public representatives and civil society to discuss the way forward together.
Please register here to take part in the debate.
We look forward to your active participation in this important discussion!
